I had to look it up on the internet too. Obviously they use it a lot in Sweden, but I can't find an exact equivalent in Norwegian. It means something like this: It's difficult to change old habits. In English "A leopard never changes his spots." Perhaps we can interpret the expression in a more easy way: Stripes never go out of fashion, - but I don't know. Good luck to you:)
